Continuing the conversations through January has been an absolute delight for me! I look forward to reading all your posts and I’m getting so many great ideas for emergency preparedness. At now 80 years of age with my travel capabilities now rather seriously limited, I’ve decided keeping active and busy with prepping and gardening…I think these activities are what will keep me up and interested in life and living….not just surviving sitting in front of mindless television…

Today, I prepared several trays of veggies for the dehydrating machine….some more carrots but this time sliced rather than shredded; some mushrooms sliced; and some celery sliced. I also roasted some red peppers I had in the freezer since last Sept. and put them in a container in the refrig….Then I ran out of energy..:)

I’m ordering pantry items from Walmart, Krogers, and Amazon that are shipped to my house for free….the problem is the drivers leave the boxes on my front porch and don’t take the time to ring my doorbell so I know a delivery has been made. Several boxes sat out overnight recently which sort of bothers me a bit, but not enough to stop using this service. I really want to get to the point where grocery shopping except for fresh veggies and fruits is not necessary.

I’m feeling really, really positive about the future. Or at least positive about my ability to handle whatever the future might bring. Of course, I’ve had lots of experience handling life and I’ve been blessed with a deep faith that just walks me through every storm. Participating in this group is also showing me some other wonderful folks are out there making it happen too even when it’s hard. 🙂

I’ll be watching for a February challenge, or joining in with the Decluttering forum. Hope to “see” all of you around the forums…
