So on this last day of January, i am pretty happy with my progress on the Portal to Hell hall closet. It’s not complete but i accomplished a lot this month!
Alas, the super’s (and woodsrunner’s) faith in my prowess with the sander was sadly misplaced. Suffice to say I spent a whole lotta time vacuuming, dusting and mopping after the Mount Vesuvius-like cloud of dust…went outside in the -7 weather to dust off my hair, clothes and shoes…opened all the windows to air the place out, now have my air purifier running. Thankfully i was wearing an N95 respirator and goggles. But!! I did get the woodfiller in the door frame sanded. As for the lumpy bumpy walls, well, they’ll still be there in Feb. I have to concentrate on my classes now, got behind without my PC. I plan to spend the whole weekend using the school library’s computers.
I have enjoyed reading everyone’s comments this month. It’s great to be part of this community. It’s wonderful to read comments from people all over the States and the world, it is a window into so many different ways of living, so different from my own, especially all the folks living so self-sufficiently in very rural areas. So, see you guys in Feb!
