The challenge is over and I have to say I enjoyed it very much. I cooked from scratch every night except for the free chicken night and all the sides were homemade. I got a little creative as we got low on things around here. It was actually kind of nice getting back to basics. The challenge helped me realize just how lazy we’ve gotten with convenience products that cost too much and aren’t so good for us. Repurposing things has been eye opening and enjoyable. I’ve got a long list of things I want to learn to do. All in all it was a worthwhile experience and I intend to continue the scratch cooking. The family enjoys it and the grocery bill has been much lower.
