Greetings to all. Whoo, reading some of your posts makes me both very thankful for our health, and tired out thinking I need to get up and do more! So many things happening with everyone. Stay safe driving, relax and get over your illnesses.
Vit. D: My Vit D is part of a calcium tablet, and I take it very day.
Muffy: I really like the Food saver vacuum sealer for jars. It does not always work properly for me, so I just keep at it. Eventually it seals. I am going to put raisins and oatmeal in some jars today. (Separate jars.)
Project 1 -Cooking from stores: I am going to make a butternut squash, sage, bacon pasta.
Project 2- Morse: More practice. I will check it out more thoroughly, Woodsrunner. I like using multiple approaches to learning. It also makes it stick better if you challenge it.
Ham Radio: If you can, do it! We joined the club in Nov 2017, got our Technician licenses in Feb. 2018. We spent Saturday at a club meeting and realized, after a year, how open, friendly and helpful everyone is. We know who knows most about which subject. There is always a helping hand or insight. For a bunch of people from multiple walks of life, and ages ranging from 17 to 93, it is a really good group. Maybe because I was new and naive, they made me Secretary, then added me to the Board of Directors. I warned them that I knew nothing, but they just smile and say that’s a good and different perspective. Or perhaps they just like that I often bring cookies.
It has been snowing all morning, but not accumulating much. The bird feeders are getting colorful. The Goldfinches and Purple Finches are getting brighter. Them all on a feeder with cardinals and woodpeckers is a nice thing.
Snowing and cold, so, I am organizing my recipes. I copy recipes from the internet that I like. They are put into a document, by type, and I put a list of contents on the top along with the page numbers. That way each recipe is easy to find. When I make one that we really like, I add it to a file labeled, “Our Favorites,” along with notes about when and how we made it. I am also looking for recipes that can be canned into a jar as a full meal. One quart is a bit too much for the two of us, so I am buying more 24 oz jars.
Time to find something else Prepper-like projects to do today. Stay warm and safe everyone.
