Loving Life…..it’s GrannyJ Smith that says she’s stepping out of the challenge cuz she’s got the flu.  🙁   However DH had the Coughing Crud for 2+wks….almost over it.  I’ve just had invading microbes on the “doorstep” for the same amount of time – no cough, swollen throat glands and feeling a little ‘off’.  Dunno what it’s been, but I’m also nearly clear of the “attempted invasion”.  I’m thankful neither of us DID have the flu…it’s been quite rough anyway with all the rest of the things going on!

Woodsrunner……RE: question about my mysterious description of ‘thumper’.  It’s more of a physio-therapy device.  It’s electric….plugs in to outlet and has two speeds.  Vibration to break up crud in lungs is one use.  Vibration to encourage lymph glands [like under arm pits] to keep fluids moving is another way we use this device.  It’s a vibration that is soft “thumping” rather than “buzzing”…..cuz ‘buzzing’ wouldn’t vibrate deep into the lungs, for instance. { I’M NOT A DOCTOR SO DON’T TAKE MY ADVICE }  😉   I’m just describing what helps us to move the fluids along so lungs or lymph system doesn’t get backed-up/congested. It does also help to unwind tight, overused muscles I have with my disease.  I also carefully use it on face for sinus clogging [my major headache cause] …but the ‘thump’ of this vibration, even on low setting, is kinda harsh for using on face. —- The only thing I found as an example to show you is on this link.  But it is far more aggressive ‘thumping’ than the device we use.  Far more.  But you might get the idea…. Google:   theragun.com   It has a youtube video to see it in action.  Looks like device would hurt tho.  😮

Cinnamon Granny….we’re also still eating out of freezers.  I’ve wanted to clear them for a very long time.  Still haven’t been to store except the quick bread*eggs*milk run DH did along with his NyQuil. So we’re kinda forced into it…..it’s a good thing!

Speaking of which, did you all know bacon that’s frozen in smaller packets in freezer in Ziplock bags gets a definite OFF taste after….years?  Couple years is ok but the long-buried stuff, I’ve decided to toss.  Taste is toooo ‘OFF’ and if it’s actually rancid, it should not be eaten.  {sigh}

Muffy….  Mushrooms….I dehydrate the usual white button ones that come on sale.  The consistency I get when I rehydrate is more like canned mushrooms than fresh.  They do get quite soft and pretty much original size.  Have you tried using boiling water to rehydrate?  I use in scrambled eggs, soups, hot dishes, etc.   I love hearing what you are trying next!!

MollyM …..I like the idea of clear tote boxes.  I’ve got many red totes and bags for medical stuff….at least it’s color coded and somewhat sorted by type of items.  But seeing what’s in it for some things would be helpful.

Today’s prepping…..I keep a lot of extra water poured in our garage and house.  Some are in well-washed square juice containers.  But I have quite a supply of 7-up smaller bottles.  I keep a lot of them along the side-under my bed.  When I empty one, I reach under and grab another.  I drink water almost exclusively and a LOT in our arid climate.  Periodically I run a bunch of them thru a mild bleach/water bath and then rinse, refill.  I’ve been using these same bottles for years….cuz I only drink 7-up [and similar like Mist, Sprite] when I have stomach upset ….or pizza.  LOL  So I was doing a lot of refilling today.  We’re on a well and I like to keep most of them filled all the time.  If we lose electric….we immediately lose the water pumping system.  Unlike those of you on city water where the water pressure would last for a while, giving you the chance to fill up a lot of containers.
