coffee girl…..too much venison? Not! We used to get whatever was left in our friends’ freezer when the next hunting season started. A little elk, some deer, some antelope. Yum! We like bison too but that’s not a hunting season….it’s farmed. With STRONG fencing.
Cinnamon Grammy…..do they make a hand pump for a 200′ well? Unless I’m mixing my numbers [again] , ours is around that deep and the mechanics of ‘lift’ wouldn’t do it. Don’t go by me on this tho… Numbers are NOT my friends!
Corsaire….elderberries at Walmart….thanks, that’s going on the List! Can you share your recipe? Have you used it? This is on my mind lately. I think a Berkey will filter anything except possibly that weird algae bloom in …? Lake Michigan? And maybe even that.

OK….low energy. Read several prep-worthy articles. Still sorting things out of freezers and into the stove. Love lamb but not too experienced in cooking it. Have some lamb shanks….roast, boil, ?? Thinking of roast in the cast iron pot. Dunno. Sorting thru a little clutter. Had to walk the whole length of hose for getting water to horse tank, pulling it up to the surface again. Snow drifting in WIND keeps covering it – sun must be shining to get hose warm before we attempt water flow. Else one has a slushy…then a plug. [horrors…trying to undo that problem in February!] Had a good prep talk with life-long friend. She’s been surviving the Midwest 2′ of snow…then the ice in MO. Her chickens are not wanting to lay just now. LOL
