Greetings, All.

Hope all are doing well.  We keep having an inch or two of snow.  Not enough to plow. This morning, it was a rare sunny day and the snow looked as if it was covered with white glitter.

Saturday we attended our grandson’s Eagle Project.  He had a mini-Festival of Nations.  All of the people represented were students at his school.  While some were born in those countries, others had parents born there and visited with them.  It was interesting to watch these high school students make table presentations to their friends from school.  Max is in the National Honor Society, so this also counted for a service project there; and many of the NHS members participated.  It was supported by the Humanities teachers, who were all there.  After the presentations of countries, he held a discussion about the differences/similarities in several religions.  Listening to those four speakers was interesting to me.  I was raised in one of those religions.  After hearing that Pastor talk, I would not choose to take a deeper look into it.  I was impressed by the Muslim Imam, and the Native American Speaker.  It was a respectful and interesting discussion.

There is another student who wants to do have the Festival of Nations next year and carry on the tradition.

Today we are uploading the pictures that we took so that Max can add them to the analysis of his event for the board of review.  We had told him, of course, that we would help set-up or do anything he needed.  When we arrived on Saturday, the first thing he said was,”Please put up this sign at the door.”  Not even a hello.  He was busy, and we understood.  I got a hug later.  He still has a couple merit badges to complete, but I think he will make the deadline.

I was able to gift the mittens and hat and scarf to the family.  The scarf is the only piece to not come back.  The hat was too small, and the opening on the mittens was too large.  So, learning from that and re-doing them.  I still have 4 items waiting for the other family.

Leftovers for dinner yesterday:  thawed pork chops that were better for stir-fry so that is what I did.  With a bell pepper, red onion, parsnip/carrot, soy sauce, ginger, along with leftover pineapple, oranges, and sweet potatoes, it was delicious.  Now to get Hubby to cut up the two pork roasts I bought (2-for-1), so they can be put up as Flemish Stew (with onions and beer!).

I put away the files in my sewing room, the table is clear and can now start sewing and mending again. Hopefully finish the corduroy shirt I started last winter and make a new flannel shirt for this winter.

I also took a bunch of stuff out of our bathroom cabinets.  You know us ladies; half empty jar of this and half empty bottle of that.  I threw a bunch away!  Found some duplicates that should be put into the storage area. Plus, decided to actually USE some.  Why wait?  Enjoy the items now while I can.

Oh, must take the 55 Alive training course for Seniors so we get a 10 percent discount on our car insurance. At least we already took the original eight hour class, and now just need the four hour refresher. Busy next few days.

Take care everyone.
