Red Carnation – hang in there. Thinking of you.
Today’s prepping was gardening information. I love the idea of working with simple tools, heirloom seeds, and saving my own seed, so I like reading the information from Ecology Action (John Jeavons’ organization). I am not a vegan, but I think they provide some great information. I have been looking for the out of print book “One Circle: How to Grow a Complete Diet in Less Than 1000 Square Feet” by David Duhon, which is supposed to be a companion to “Grow More Vegetables…”, but most of the used copies are outrageously priced – so waiting to see if something affordable turns up, or if I can find it in a library and photocopy it. But I did find some posts from people who had worked with the ideas here (https://permies.com/t/17401/Circle-book-Dave-Duhon-discuss) and here (http://livinglowinthelou.blogspot.com/2013/10/can-you-really-grow-all-your-own-food.html)
I also went here (http://www.growbiointensive.org/publications_main.html) to download any free pdfs that I could (the free ones are mostly in Spanish, but that’s OK).
I also really want to find a copy of “Test Your Soil With Plants” by John Beeby. That one may have to be a photocopied library book, too – no pdfs, it’s out of print, and the used copy on Amazon is around $200!! But I did find a few items of information here (https://envirochangemakers.org/pub/DIY%20soil%20tests.pdf).
