Greetings, All.
Having a “down” day. Hubby is chattering and laughing and I want to gag him. It is the SAD. I am not depressed, this could be a lot worse, I am just feeling heavy. Like swimming upstream. This is the end of week two on the new meds, perhaps they are kicking in and I need to wait a bit longer. Or it could be the constant gray skies and snowfalls, more today. Trouble getting to sleep and waking up. I am down from the “high” of watching my grandson succeed last Saturday. It will pass.
Meanwhile, a few years ago we took the 55 Alive driving refresher course. After 8 hours of sitting in a classroom, and refreshing our memories of safe driving, our car insurance was reduced by 10%. Now we need only take a 4-hour refresher. We can take it from home, online, but we do not have and cannot seem to download Adobe Flash for our Macs. I wasted yesterday afternoon trying to get it to load. Same problem with Hubby’s computer. We may need to drive 50 miles to get this done.
Meanwhile, I finished the reworking of the hat and mittens. Finished assembling a baby blanket; time to wash it and put it away. Now, to find another one that is half finished to finish that one. I put the collar on the corduroy shirt and just have the button holes to do. (I hate button holes; they never line up no matter how well I mark them.) I will soon have a new shirt, swirls of shades of deep blue with a navy collar, cuffs, and pockets. Then clean up that mess and start another shirt, a cheery solid bright pink flannel for around the house.
What I did get accomplished was modifying the many pictures we took of the eagle project. Crop, adjust brightness, sharpen, and put on Facebook for he and his friends to enjoy.
Perhaps one thing that has me down is the death of a friend. While I have not seen her in 50 years, since we graduated, we communicated on Facebook. We went to elementary, junior and senior high together, plus were in Girl Scouts, band and choir, and she lived one block from me. She is just two months older than I am; 69. That scares me a bit. I knew she had some health issues, but not morbid ones. If she can pass on at 69, then I had better get myself in gear and clear out my house so my only child does not need to do it.
So, I am dragging my heavy self off this chair and push through this gray day to discard piles of Stuff. Capital S for the junk that is not work keeping.
Stay warm, and Sunny, everyone.
