Well I got plenty of sunlight in my eyes today.  I was able to not use my sunglasses for long enough.  During the night we received MANY inches of snow….sneak attack!  Woke up  “Aw nooo”   GROAN!  It is so much work to remove enough snow to get to all the animals and the vehicles.  I went out the back with shovel and DH went out front and went on down to barnyard to feed critters and shovel there.  I worked around to open goat house and clear the stairs down that steeeeep hilliside.  Kept resting so I’d make the duration.

I can’t believe that just a couple days ago, I thot getting a foot of snow at once would be easier than sweeping just a bit every single day like it’s been doing this winter.  Nope!  I’ll take the broom daily over the shovel job we had today.

After today I’ve added items to my Shopping List:  2-3 new brooms — these are worn out and pathetic.  I still want light-weight brooms but with full bristles!!!  Also one more NOT-aluminum snow shovel.  That aluminum shovel …..I left it in the sun a few minutes while opening the goat door.  Then the snow stuck to the shovel.  Go to toss the snow and AACK!  Full shovel comes back to you.  Tried scraping off the ‘Velcro’ but only partially successful.  Hmph!  Makes everything so much harder.

We got both vehicles dug out and down the hill to get out of the way.  Dear neighbor friend comes to snow plow the driveway.  Then everything gets a lot easier.  Until this snow begins to puddle in meltwater and freeze solid….

OldMtWoman ….tired…. G’nite all
