James Mitchner, we understand the privacy.  Nineteen acres of woods and miles from town.  Beautiful and peaceful.

We are at the end of a 1/2 mile drive. One-quarter of it is uphill and curves between a carved out hill on one side and a brook in a ravine on the other.  The ravine is not deep, at the bottom of course.

Our young neighbor plows for us.  The first 50 yards are an actual county road, the rest are an easement on a different neighbor’s property.  He was gone for a week and we did not get plowed out until yesterday.  Today, he came back with the bucket on his Bobcat to push the snow further off the drive. The snow is knee deep next to the sidewalk.  The only other walkways are the ones Hubby maintains to feed the birds.

I am not looking forward to the freezing and thawing that comes with Spring.

Several tornadoes went through town last September.  We had high winds that took down a mostly dead ash tree.  It landed between the buildings so we were very lucky.  We needed help, a friend who is a logger and has a longer chain saw cut up and took the larger pieces.  He made some good extra money for a few weeks. Another tree that was NOT dead, landed on an old shed.  We did not claim any insurance for it, but it will need to be rebuilt.  It was at least 100 years old judging by the timbers used. We have not gone near that downed tree or shed since it is unsafe in this winter weather. It just held wood, lawn furniture, and gardening tools; all are safe.  So, that is a project for spring.
