Hi, Ya’ll….
Last day of month I wanted to be sure to check in and say Hi after having to drop out of daily posting for awhile. February has offered a few challenges; but at my age I’m experienced in how to sort of “roll with the punches, go with the flow” repeating what is God’s truth “this too shall pass” and “I will never leave you.” Cool.
Anyhow, I’ve read all your posts everyday and am so impressed with all of you and especially those of you having to cope with so much snow. Where I am it seems we’ve hardly had any winter at all and last week the buttercups popped out in all their glory…they’re everywhere!!! Such a pretty announcement of Spring soon following.
I’m continuing to practice dehydrating things just to see how long it takes and then rehydrating for use in recipes. Lots to learn but I’m having fun with it. I ordered the book Daisy recommended THE SURVIVAL MEDICINE HANDBOOK and will put this in the five gallon EMERGENCY bucket someone else suggested. I’ve still got to get a better sense of what needs to go in that bucket, but I think it’s looking pretty complete (if in prepping anything is ever complete).
I will definitely continue my gardening efforts. I’ve actually grown spinach indoors all winter long and it’s been great! My handyman is going to built me some small raised gardens; following the Square-Foot Garden idea. That will give me just enough activity to keep me up but not so much as to generate pressure. There are a number of Mennonite families in our area who sell lots of produce during the summer months and I can buy from them.
I do hope these conversations will continue as I feel I know so many of you now in a special “digital” way; looking forward to reading your posts everyday.
Be blessed all of you!
