Yesterday I received shocking news which changed my game plan for the next several days. The son of one of our friends was killed in the shooting in California. He was 23. My son adored him and is struggling with his death.
I have always spoken with my children about situational awareness. This prompted me to take my son out last night to examine potential escape routes in a store. We will continue this exercise all weekend in a variety of establishments. Particularly at his place of employment; a movie theatre. I have a number of other projects scheduled for the weekend, but in light of the most recent mass shooting hitting home, we are focusing on safety.
