Yes, there are a lot of good points in that article.  If this happens next year, I think we will be seeing the effects at a much greater length.  I do know that around here, we have neighbors including myself that have back yard gardens.  We have felt the effects of all the rain we have had. No ones gardens did well this year and last year was not as bad but not one got as much yield as before but much better than this year.

Does anyone recall the impacts to Mexico when Obama passed the ethanol mandate?
Yeah, they were ready to riot.

So the farmers might actually get decent cash for their crops?

    Farm subsidies may be reduced?

    We shall see.

The bail out for farmers went to  big ag from international owners  https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2019/01/09/trump-farm-bailout-money-will-go-brazilian-owned-meatpacking-firm-usda-says/

One of many stories most us resident farmers less than 6k in subsidy. I personally think the best thing they could do is end all subsidies expecially corn, soy, sugar, cotton .
