I added this link to Jose’s article. He just wrote about his in-laws’ arrival – they’ve just left Venezuela for good too. They said that what little food people have is getting stolen by law enforcement for their own use.

I am NOT saying all LEO are bad or would use/abuse their positions of authority to gain an advantage.
However, I do recall reports of similar happening in the wake of hurricane Katrina.
