We have a large Amish population here where I live.
Even had a guy from Michigan (I think that is what I heard) move in a old farm house down the road. He is opening a machine shop.

I always distrust the over religious . The FLDS comes to mind . You know , the cult that was marrying off 12 year old girls , etc .

Eh, they keep to themselves when it comes to their religion.

While the courtship does start when they are in the middle teens, from what I have seen, they dont marry until they are 18 years of age.
