    Hi!

I am retired military. From the military, I have experience in survival training (several courses plus refreshers).

I recently built a house in a very rural area of Up-State New York. I am in the process of moving things from my other home near a very large city and selling that house.

I am interested in being more self-reliant as I have been very concerned about events in the large urban areas.

My new house has a well, septic and solar on grid. I am getting other systems in place, including gardens and solar back-up.

With moving, I am trying to get everything organized and inventoried.

I also love Up-State NY, that’s why I decided to build my house here. I have a gorgeous view of the mountains with lots of foliage. Also the skiing is good here too.

I consider prepping to be like insurance — you hope you don’t need but you are sunk if you don’t.

The septic and well are necessary here. The solar I did because it made sense. The solar annuallt provides more energy than han I need so u am net zero. It made sense to be green especially with all the tax credits.

My grandparents were children during the Great Depression. Certain of their habits rubbed off on me. I enjoy gardening.

On the fun side, doing some prepping gave me an excuse to build a wine cellar and stockpile some of my favorite brews. Lol!!
