I suspect this will be a very, very cold winter. If this is a new grand solar minimum it will be cold for decades. Could be cold enough to use enough electricity to collapse the grid. Talk about climate change!

Now would be a good time to start taking notes of any holes you are finding in your prepping.

if grand solar minimum there will be a decade plus of crop failures. What’s kinds scary is the movement of the poles and how fast they are going. The cold destroyed the SEED CROP about 30 percent made it. For you that don’t understand farmers mainly buy new seed each year even organic guys.
So even if next year is perfect which doubt there is a huge problem with not enough seeds now. And not all seeds are useable.
Yo make it worse there is a propane shortage due to cold so crops are rotting wet at grain cleaners due to cold snap. So what did get off is now rotting or freezing

Grand Solar Minimum would be a disaster. Where I am, planting season was delayed by a month and first freeze was one month early. That’s 2 months off the growing season!
For personal gardening, I only buy seeds that are non-hybridized (heritage) so that I can harvest my own seed. I know that’s not the case for mass producers.

I agree that haritage seeds are the way to go. I have many of them and plan on getting more from the long term food places. Harvesting our own seeds for the next year is the only way to go. We also had a short season, first a late spring and very wet one. Now we are having a cold snap with possibility of snow. Been cold and raining all day here and going to get down in low 30’s soon. Haven’t seen that happen this soon in many years. Didn’t know there was a propane shortage. So better get my propane tank refilled tomorrow while I am out. We emptied that one using the grill this summer. One usually last us for 2 summers.
I really think bad times are ahead of us. And not that far ahead either.

What happened to the global warming?
Take a deep breath, this has happened before, it will happen again. Be prepared and relax.
A bunch of people are going to blow a gasket and not get to the bad days because they are stressing out.

They call it climate change whirl so they can claim every thing ….. global warming had to be abandoned just like al gore but the idea of carbon exchange still alive and well.
It a religion not a scientific thing as none of the climate people can argue with anything resembling a proper study without usING falsified numbers.

Uh, it moved south. That whole summer-winter hemisphere thing. Check out what’s happening in Australia. Definitely no Grand Solar Minimum happening there.

Yeah, every season. But every season is getting noticeably worse now. Migrations are starting to happen.
A bunch of people are going to blow a gasket and not get to the bad days because they are stressing out.
That’s already happening. It’ll get worse, too.
