Some states put the cart before the horse with green energy, not putting the resources not only for generation, but storage capacity, and then prematurely shutting down coal, natural gas, and nuclear energy plants.
So, yes, some of these states will experience blackouts due to poor planning.
Granted, the Texas Arctic Blast, their natural gas facilities were not insulated/hardened for those kind of temps. They figured that kind of event was a once in a 100 years.
However, I have a friend down that way. He has said over the past few years, they experience a few “once in a 100 year” events every year.
