Something like this happened last year.
The In-n-Out mart I was in, their CC machines went down, or should I say the CC company servers went down.
Could not process any cards at the register or at the pumps.
Everyone stood in line waiting.
Those with cash, walked right up to the front of the line, paid for their things and went on their way while the rest of us stood there waiting. -

I remember something like that happening here. There were some very upset people. We were at one of those stores when it happened. That store is now closed down but we did have enough cash on us to pay for what we got. People need to wake up. Current will go out and things do break down. We all need to carry cash for just in case.

So….if they want to go “cashier-less” …why can’t they install the machine that sucks in your dollars and gives you change? The machine would have to be built into the wall for security but it’s done in other places. Surely that cost would be gained by not paying an employee?
If they just want to go “cash-less”, then the same sort of machine could be used and the employees never have to have a ’till’ that they can be forced to open by thieves. Obviously we have the tech for that.
They don’t give credit cards, or even debit cards, to everyone….and some folks just don’t like them. Many of us do not “have an app for that” ….cuz we don’t have cell service at our house. It WILL cut off services for more people than some folks think, I believe.
OldMtWoman ….hard to believe that ‘cash is no longer king’
