Nope, not a special at the local chinese all you can eat buffet.
I knew my one goat was preggers. Her udders enlarged about two maybe three weeks ago.
Yesterday afternoon, surprise! There they are! No warning or anything. Usually I will get at least some kind of indication, grunting, water broken, even at nose sticking out.And the mother rejected them. So, hand feeding, and diapers it is.

No goats here yet…. was thinking of getting some angoras goats for the fibre…

Nah.
Took her down to the neighboring Amish guy. He needs the milk for his family. Figured dont let it go to waste or her to dry up.
In exchange, I get lumber from his mill.

They are cute, but they require care just like a human baby. Feeding, change the diapers, and even then, they sometimes wiggle out of their diapers. Then have to change the sheets, and they then need a bath.

It’s a lot of work, and it was unexpected it sounds like. Our first Nubian was a baby who we had to bottle feed 3 times a day, but the weather was warm outside and we rarely needed to bring her in, so no diapers or baths. It’s amazing, though, that the relationship I have with that one goat is so much more personal than with the others.

thought I had posted on here but didn’t take a few days ago. The babies are so cute. And it looks like they are going to be spoiled rotten.
