    Perhaps because I’ve lived, hiked and camped in heavily forested areas in the Pacific Northwest my entire life, it’s never occurred to me that those trees might have been contributing to my health all these years. It’s called “forest bathing” therapy.

    I wonder if cacti and Midwest grasslands can perform the same function for treeless residents.

    You are so lucky to have that beautiful setting 🙂 We first heard that term when we were visiting the California Redwoods.

    I grew up running in the woods and would love to do it to this day. My backyard isn’t a great substitute but we have oaks and pines and a sweetgum, almost never rake so it stays more natural. The minute me or one of my kids get too stressed, to the backyard we go.

    On hot summer days, we occasionally will sit in the brook to cool off.
