Perhaps because I’ve lived, hiked and camped in heavily forested areas in the Pacific Northwest my entire life, it’s never occurred to me that those trees might have been contributing to my health all these years. It’s called “forest bathing” therapy.
I grew up running in the woods and would love to do it to this day. My backyard isn’t a great substitute but we have oaks and pines and a sweetgum, almost never rake so it stays more natural. The minute me or one of my kids get too stressed, to the backyard we go.
