  While hunting I tried out a new lantern I’d bought several of the family. It’s a winner. You pull the base down to turn it on and the more you pull it down the more light shines. No button to find in the dark. Very lightweight, bright and compact. 4 for $22

  I have some of those type lanterns, and indeed they work well. ( except with Rayocrap um rayovac and acdelco batteries)

  I have about 6 of those. They are really the greatest lanterns. Very bright. And yes, I won’t buy Rayovac batteries. They don’t hold up. I do have some and I want more of them. The ones you can charge from a computer or solar charger. They work really well. I think if I remember right, I got them from Survival frog.

  @littlesister look up site called tenergy… they sell rechargeable cheap. Yes not top quality but quantity is a quality of it’s own.
  
  Also buying a proper charger that can restore batteries helps alot.
