Well, better late than never.
Funny thing is, some of the supply chain comes from guess where . . . China!
So, if they want a more secure, domestic supply chain, they are going to have to make those China goods more expensive (or outright tax US corporations to bring production back to the US) like as in tariffs.
But tariffs, bad!

Just another way to grow the government . Thats all it is . They will probably nazify ( militarize ) them as well . We all know how they think , the guy that drives the street sweeper truck , needs full war gear

While I hate hyper-consumerism, I do think due to these kind of shortages, it is prudent to get things now, while they are still available at reasonable cost.
New lawnmower, just replaced the fridge (it came with the house, and we have been here 10 years), replaced the hot water heater last year along with new PEX replacing the old copper and a new water filter system.
For Father’s Day, wife and daughter got me a real meat grinder. Can ground 3lbs in a minute, replaces the Kitchen Aide mounted grinder.
