How can they be handouts when they took money out of my paycheck for 53 years without my permission to fund the program? Maybe the cretins who stole the funds should be held accountable…. on a tree.

@James Mitchner,
Well said.
Seems to be a sizable part of American Society that has this absurd idea that the government will do the right thing with everyone elses money.

We have paid into social security and medicare for years. We are retired now. We knew from the start we could never live off of social security, so we are not depended on it. However, we are forced to take medicare or be penalized for not using it. If we didn’t take it at age 65 we would have to pay a higher monthly payment for it. It is bad enough they take it from out social security. But that is the way it works. That payment goes up higher for each year you do not take it. I really do believe there will come a time when people will not be able to get it though they are paying into it. They have been stealing from both social security and medicare for many years. They will never pay that money back. Though it was not theirs to take to balance the government budget. I say hang them all. Our government is nothing more than a bunch of greedy morons. Stealing from it’s citizens to line their pockets.

More likely a tax on all other retirement plans like 40k and Roth iras. Bundle all together so they can share wealth as obummer put it you did not do it government did. Many failed states have done this as last ditch efforts. They already took all the retirement from pension plans (non governmental) when they made them invest in us treasuries a few years ago

James Mitchner – agree. WE paid into OUR account. Not theirs.
Namelus: I will respect this president if you respect the previous ones.

Cinnamon grammy I have zero respect for any president for a long time they are all reprehensible. Not one keeps their word and do not deserve respect of those they profess to work for but sell them out in endless war spending blood and treasure killing the people.1

In the long run it doesn’t matter who the president is. Presidents don’t really run things like people believe. If it were so we would have a nice tall wall along the southern border by now… or at least most of it.
The government is run by those same type people who have been attempting for the past three years to void the constitutional votes of 81 million Americans in the 2016 election because one of the insiders didn’t get elected President. Instead it was some tactless egotistical businessman having no allegiance to the corrupt swamp known as Washington, D.C. Frankly, I very much enjoy watching President Trump make the swamp creature’s and the communist’s heads explode! There are only two things that government does well…. corrupt things and destroy things.

Ok, so here’s the question for you.
What percentage will SocSec payout be after it supposedly becomes insolvent?
Because our state retirement people gave an interesting number to us.
