I think this is perfect insight to how short sighted their go green energy plan is.

If there’s anything short-sighted about their plan, it’s that they didn’t wait long enough before they started telling people to stop charging their cars. I believe their goal is to eradicate all personal vehicles for the peons, force everyone – except the elites – into public transportation, and even then only if your social credit score is acceptable. The rest of us will be expected to stay put and eat bugs, or preferably die so they can achieve the 500,000,000 global population goal.
None of this is about “green”. If any of the elites really believed it, they wouldn’t buy huge footprint mansions, live on beachfront property, fly all over the world (often on their own private jets) and live like they do.
It’s about controlling the masses.
