I wonder how long it will take before the supply chain from China is significantly disrupted and all those plastic pumpkins that are featured at Wal-Mart and Costco go bare.

We’re definitely going to see some shortages at some point. We buy some much crap from China that there’s going to be a giant gap in our supply lines.

I suspect there are going to be a lot more places shutting down production, too.

The question is, what are those things we will see drops in?
Is anyone going to be seriously hurt if they cannot get the latest iPhone? Smart TV?

Rx drugs, ok, that could be a problem. Stock up now if you have a Rx prescription and the drug is made in China or overseas in general.

The biggie for me is disruption of the food supply here in the states. Just like the day before the 2016 election, I predicted Trump would win, and a possible freakout by the left that could lead to civil disturbance. So, we stocked up on everything.
The wife is doing the same tonight.

WHY is China doing all this?  Are we missing what’s going on behind curtain #2?

Based of various readings, this virus has a incubation period of 1-16 days, average being 5 before someone presents with signs and symptoms. During that incubation period, someone who appears and feels healthy is actually contagious and can pass on the virus.

I think this thing got out of hand before the China government even knew it. They may be fibbing the numbers or they may not have a real idea or way to account for how many are actually infected.
I have read some articles about Chinese workers stealing stuff from Canada labs, or there being a bio-weapons lab in Wuhan, where this virus started.
      Who cares.
What matters is how far spread is it? IF it gets hold here in the US, what will be our own government’s response? Can you imagine restricted travel? What will it look like IF our JIT/BAU food supply system gets disrupted?

Do you think it is a coincidence that this is happening at the exact same time as the Trump impeachment trial?  It seems unlikely to me that this whole coronavirus thing, or at least China’s huge reaction to it, is just a red herring, a misdirection away from the Trump impeachment trial but it might be.
