Well it will remain to be seen . My take on China is this . Everything they make is inferior . They are a Communist country . Remember how crude the old Soviet stuff was ? As opposed to the modern Federation gear , that is equal to our own ? . My take on China in general is this : They have been doing a BAD job for so long , that they are now incapable of doing a good job . Everything they make is crap . They don’t tell people about how many high rises fall down , because of poor workmanship . It goes on and on .

Have you ever been to China?

    Their supertrains are not crap.

Most of the stuff that is crap, is because us Americans want cheap stuff.

I agree with @crowbar. It is time for Americans to drop the China can only make crap litany. The Chinese government wants the country to be a top exporter of advanced technology and they are making sure their product are up to standard. I have bought several products made by Chinese brands and have been very happy with them. Low cost but not cheap.

@tolik, you’re right about the crumbling buildings but that’s more due to corruption at local level than anything else. And it is not limited to China either. See, for example, the recent scandal of the falsified steel test in Japan. What make me favor China vs the USA in the long run is that their corrupted officials end up in front of a firing squad, while ours get reelected.
