Now if they were to stick to the two of enforcing a balanced federal budget, and establishing term limits for members of Congress I could get behind that.
The third one about the 17th Amendment I would have to look into.

Rarely , when one attempts to ” fix ” something that is not broken , does it actually get better . The Constitutional process of amending it , should not be tampered with . They had best wait until the mid terms are over , to make sure they are still dealing in a position of strength . By holding off after , to call for a Constitutional Convention if thing are still favorable , may be dodging a big bullet if the outcome is not what they plan .

We have a method of amending the constitution that works. We need to stick with it.

What I hate is politicians using state legislatures to override the constitution and then have the courts back them up. Our supreme court is a majority republican, why do they not stand up for our right to keep and bear arms enshrined in the 2nd amendment? The constitution is supposed to be the supreme law in our country, yet my right to keep and bear arms is constantly under attack.

Here in California, they basically disregard the constitution. What is scary, is that you now have 20 million voters in California that have lost their 2nd amendment rights, and for those idiots that say move, it won’t help. Those 20 million voters you did not stand up for in California are probably not going to stand up and vote for your right to keep and bear arms when gun control becomes a national issue. The NRA blew it when they sacrificed California to raise money in fly-over country.

The first two I can get behind but the 17th amendment stays.

The people elect their representatives, otherwise the very notion of balance of power will honestly and truly be gone. It will become a cult of I wants and to hell with the people. Whoever gives the biggest incentive check, gets their wishes granted.

What we have now isn’t perfect, but there is an opportunity to vote someone out if they no longer do the job they were elected to do in the first place. If they are brought in by their golfing buddies, or their family members, we would all be in trouble.
