Anonymous“Mr. Trump said the U.S. is realizing the dangers of globalization and must figure out ways to increase manufacturing in the U.S. and rely less on international supply chains.”
Agree 100%. The production of critical products should move back to the US.
“Questions like ‘What is work?’ Is it what we thought work was in 1850 or 1950, what was the relationship between work and wages, how do people sustain themselves, and what is the relationship between work and life — work and not-work?” she said. “Those are questions already very much in the air.”
I’m very much in favor of tel-commuting for work. No expensive work clothes to buy, reduced travel expenses and we all know that it’s cheaper to eat at home rather than restaurants everyday for lunch. Its well understood today that putting your child in daycare, buying work clothes, travel, meals, etc. negates the extra income from working, unless your a lawyer or something.
Frankly, I also support home schooling, for the same reasons above and the problems mention in Daisy’s article on home schooling today.

@log man what ever will.the PhD in gender studies do if not running day care or would you lIke fries with that job… schooling is the next bastion of the lefties and fringe idea people.
Well easiest way to fix this is no international companies get any tax breaks. Bye bye corporate welfare…like that would.ever happen.

I dont think it is just the big corporations that have gotten used their their corporate welfare, or double digit returns and profits from cheap labor in China.
The average American too has gotten addicted to cheap stuff from China. Why buy an American made TV for $400, supporting those Americans making that TV a living wage, when they can buy a similar TV for $200 from China.

AnonymousI get that prices will go up by bringing manufacturing back to the US. But inflation is going to go up anyway with the massive spending going on in Washington. The cost of goods will just be another input into inflation.

Perhaps countries learn to control their borders . Perhaps all this EASY international travel isnt a good thing . Maybe some industries will have to take a hit . Cruise lines are not exactly a vital industry , anywhere in the world . Let free enterprise work , by letting domestic airlines take a dump . They pack people in like sardines , restriction after restriction , and still they plead poverty . Free enterprise works , if you let it . For everyone that goes under , another will pop up , that DOES know what they are doing .
