I’ll be heading out next weekend for another season. I’m hoping y’all have good luck. I’d like to see some pics sanitized of course for OPSEC.
I’m hoping for a few more of these and some meat does this year

Centerfire started last week.
Wife wants me to bag one for the freezer.
I have seen tracks, droppings, and rubs.
Rain and possible snow next 7 days. Be a good time to get out there.

Had to run into town this morning.
On the way back, saw a good sized doe crossing the road.
With my luck, that will be the best sighting I will have all season. -

My son behind him is a 200lb man. This’ll help you see the size.
Keep in mind these are actually wild deer. No feeders no crops nothing. This is what the look like without steroid injected feeder full time meals round the clock.

Well the weather has kept movement down and we get one more try tomorrow then I’m pulling out. With round 2 of panic buying and things digressing I think I’d best go home.
I’m hoping y’all had good luck. Post some pics and tell the story. I’ll get around to some more stuff later.

We used long range and short range shooting, comms, teamwork and a variety of other skills. We tested gear to fail in some cases. We pushed our physical limits and weathered the weather.

Nice!
What is your rifle chambered in?

6.5 Grendel
my first year using anything but my 06 out there.
it’s a nice round. Doesn’t beat you up and does it’s work. Fits in a standard AR platform. I use 10rd mags for deep prone positions.
I built it mainly as a hunter but capable of anything needed thus the WML and back up sights etc. -

It’s a CBC Industries kit, Primary Arms 4x14x44 ACS DMR Scope with extended sunshade, CMC 3.5lb trigger, Streamlight Protac 2 light, C-Products mags, FiDragon 45 degree offset flip up sights and Hornady 123gr SST ammo with a touch of Krylon paint using Woodland stencil kit from Branson Cerakote
So far it’s a good rifle

Of all the new rounds coming out the 6.5s have interested me the most.
But even prior to COVID crazy, unrest, election, could not justify spending money for the rifle, new dies, brass, bullets etc.

I wrestled with the decision as we were on the edge of the ammo collapse. Looking back I probably wouldn’t have done it right now.
