Yes I have seen similar headlines but this comes from the horse’s mouth so I cannot be accused of being into tinfoil fashion or journalistic hyperbole 🙂 Someone did make reference to the link but not in a way that highlights the source which makes it more than just some speculative document. The amount of detail in the document and it forthrightness make it valuable enough for it’s own topic, in fact it is so revealing if I was in the Pentagon I still would have kept it classified. This shows you the level of concern they have for the electrical grid and the continuance of Western civilization.

Well, all I can say is this is something more for me to read up on. My husband has a pacemaker/ def. implant. This can and more than likely be effected by an EMP. Or at least I have heard this many times. A lot of reasons why people on east coast will not survive a year if an EMP hits. I would love to move from here but hubby is a bit stubborn in his ways. So need to plan things according and hope for the best. Very interesting post Rich Sullivan. Thank you for posting that.

I agree that an EMP attack of the type described in “One Second After” is entirely possible. It would be at least as devastating as that novel described; maybe worse. On the other hand, it probably would trigger a Mutually Assured Destruction scenario. So a significant deterrent exists.

Personally, I think there recently has been So Much Mass Media Coverage of this topic that it is a distraction. Something else is coming. And they don’t want us to notice it approaching until it happens.

Casper I think you could be right about the cover ups. Something is going to happen and I fear as I have been watching the stock markets going up and down. We are in a bear market and the bubble may be about to burst. With Sears now going out of business and leaving 164,000 employes or more out of a job. I have a feeling more stores could follow suit. So I am thinking from what I have been reading is that a financial collaspe is on the way. We use our credit cards to get the cash or points to use at end of year for free things but pay it off each month. I have been wondering if we should just not use them this year incase a collaspe is on the way. We are going to cut way down as it is because we need to replace the air conditoner this spring and are planning on paying cash for it. We have the money set aside but need to keep it building up at the same time. I also have read the book one second after. That is an eye opener. I am also in process of reading a book called Aftershock by David Wiedemer.  It is about protecting yourself and profit in the next global meltdown. I don’t play the stock market though my retirement is sort of in stock but very conservative. We lost very little in the 08 crash. This one they say could be as bad as the 1930’s. I hope they are wrong. But I am not taking any chances on anything anymore. To hard to predict what is going to happen, when or where.

There has been a lot of EMP hollering lately, hasn’t there, Casper?  You’d think if EVERYbody is worried about it publically….then SOMEbody would be doing something about it too??  Ah well, mebbe not.

Thanks for the extensive PDF, RichS.  I’ll download it when I’m on line in the “free usage” hours beyond 2AM.
