Ever notice none of these people ever mention reducing each and every persons carbon footprint?
Instead of trying to bring the whole world up to US/1st world standards so everyone can have a 2400+sqft home, with a big screen TV in every room, for a family of 3. Smart-gadgets, or the IoTs everywhere. Drive and fly at will. Get cheap stuff from thousands of miles away.
How about us 1st world countries try to live way below our means and adopt a late 1800s lifestyle? Or even be like my Amish neighbors?

Amen to that Crow Bar! 1st World countries live more frugal and wiser would be first prize.
We are living 6 in the house with the 2 kids now at the age of wanting to move out. There are merits in that yes.
But, I’m arguing that we alter the house in such a way that they can have their privacy away from us, even if they get married, by using the space we have more effectively.
And we are keeping water as close to 50lpppd, water tanks to water the garden, washing machine water coming from rainwater ending up in the toilets, solar power to power the house. We are down to about 30% of our power coming from utilities, rest solar and batteries – and I’m not quite done yet either.
Walking the talk as they say.
Must say, it did take a wee while to get all in place with a drought and rolling blackouts forcing our hands sooner rather than later. 🙂

Good for you TTT!
That is the kind of mindset we need!
I know a guy who has a 1700sqft “cabin” in the mountains and he thinks that feels “cramped.”
And it is just him!

I would add to the fact the CA fires are not helping the climate. And the fact they want to cut down the rain forest to make room for houses, appts. and businesses. That alone will not help the CO2 issues. All our children and now grandchildren are all out on their own now. With 2 being married now. They have all spread their wings so of speak and most on their own. the youngest will be 18 this month and working full time and in college as well. So we have had our house to ourselves for awhile, but kids do tend to come home to stay awhile and visit.

Right LittleSis.
Good to have family who visits. But they do need to get out on their own and make their own way in life.

- Climate Chaos
- Resource Depletion
- Economic Disruption
- Social Disintegration
If one don’t getcha another will.
