It’s not the only one that will be caused by this. Since globalism is our system of goods production and China is the manufacturing hub almost everything will get affected as parts or pieces of sub components are made there.
At very least things will get way more expensive at worst a retool if possible to national manufacturing but that would have to be built ground up for decades. As most things need Chinese parts. Imagine a big transformer goes down only place that makes is China, and it normally takes 6 months to make one how long now?
Most aviation/ transportation and base chemical components are made there too. This is a much bigger problem than most people.realize and boy will they be pissed when you can’t get items at store.

Saw a ZH article that Chrysler/Fiat has to shutdown some of their production lines in Serbia (IIRC) due to a lack of parts from China.Some Samsung factory in SK too.
Meh, if things get expensive, maybe people stop buying useless stuff and figure out they dont need that iWhatever, or that latest greatest shiny thing.
Here is a thought, imagine if Trump would of signed the TPP, and we were dependent on China for our processed chicken? There was a proposal that chickens would be raised here, slaughtered, frozen, shipped to China for butchering and packaging, refrozen and shipped back.

China doesnt have a very good record either . Drugs , poison pet food , etc . You can trust them about as much as the former Soviet Union . Sad thing is , most things the Soviets made were of HIGHER quality , sad indeed . I truly believe China is incapable of producing anything of quality . As long as we avoid a ground war with them , I’m not afraid of them , because their sh*t doesnt work .

One of my sister’s friends (my sister and BIL live in Shanghai), got counterfeit eggs once.
Things CAN be made of high quality, but they have to be willing to pay for it. As we have seen from the Wal-Mart model, absolute rock bottom price is what drives quality control. Or lack there of.I do recall reading about counterfeit baby formula that resulted in a number of Chinese babies dying. They found the guy reasonable . . . and executed him.

there is fake rice there are fake airplane parts. Fake designer stuff fake everything.
Ask who buys it the cheap bastards who just want rock bottom price and dont care about anything else you get what you pay for as long as you are savvy consumer.
The one thing they are top notch in is organs … kill on demand can get a liver transplant in 4 hours in emergency. They just rip it out of a falun gong practicioner pre typed in jail… sometimes with no anesthesia. But its cheap and fast.
