Just a quick question.
Should our government ever go fully Big Brother, the questions I ask myself are:
How will we resist air superiority?
How will we deal with drones and infrared vision?For the later, I added one post in the MacGyver files, but I don’t know about the former. My only thought is to harass the bases with small arms fire and keep them from taking off.

In any civil war , the military will be divided , to ask a person to wipe out people in another country , with an alien culture is one thing . Asking them to dust their own people on their own soil is very much another . Many , many will refuse , or outright rebel ( as they should ) It is also very possible for the military to stage a coup , in order to do this to restore sanity . Cops can’t be trusted , they are as dirty as the people they chase . They need to die first . Drones , this is a problem , however it is already being worked on as far as concealing heat signatures , etc . And again , with a divided military , some of the drones will be on our side . Another proven fact of warfare against a conventional military , is this : 8 times out of 10 , the conventional army will lose the war against guerrilla warfare , as they really can’t adapt . Your barber in the day , could be your enemy at night , they don’t know . Attrition is key , no heavy engagements , kill one them melt back into the population ………….after awhile their moral will be absolute crap , and the fact that its on their own soil , will be a nagging thing from the start . We are the most heavily armed nation on earth , as a right . Even if only 1/4 of the population actively fight , they still outnumber the Nazi’s by a wide margin . Another factor is the fact that we have been producing a steady stream of combat veterans with decades of unrelenting conflicts . A great many are not happy with how Uncle Scam treated them when they got out . I personally know that most of the SFs , if forced to choose , will choose ( and train ) the people . The majority of the ones I have met are extremely patriotic .

Really? You think that all cops are dirty? I would guess that you don’t personally know any, or that you know them because you are a five-time felon. Most of them will not turn against the average citizens they are sworn to protect, because they got into the job because the truly want to help people. And yes, they are extremely patriotic too.

Felon ? NO , not even misdemeanors . Here is the thing , Power corrupts , unfortunate human nature . The stereotype of the high school bully , became a cop , is for the most part true . There is a air of distrust and fear between the people and LE , and the people didn’t create it . When I say cops , I mean all flavors , local to federal . The DEA , DHS , ATF , on and on , behave as if they are above any law , due process , as if they were their own nation within a nation . Those are just ones off the top of my head . When you have for profit prisons , how do you fuel the system , to continue to make that profit ? by arresting people . Then there is another aspect that is too tempting to pass up , that gives them a license to steal . That is called asset forfeiture . Strictly up to the discretion of the individual . And they do steal . You take something that doesn’t belong to you , is stealing , and without any due process or any conviction of any crime …….they as an individual just want it . The internet is full of wrong doing , why is that ? Because its a serious , and all to common problem ! Let me put it to you this way , if it wasn’t so bad , they would be hard pressed to find any material to publish , r download . But there is no shortage . Are there some ” good ” ones , I’m sure there are , but the fact that there are so many bad ones , outweighs their efforts , and create the division . Worse yet , when exposed , they rarely do anything about it . Thats corruption ! Naw , I don’t trust them , I can’t afford to ……….its not wise to .

I dunno about cops, or agents in some kind of LE capacity, being “dirty.”
I met some very goods ones.
And I met a few that did in fact have that attitude of “respect my authroiti!”
A roommate invited me to her family’s Christmas Eve dinner. Her uncle was a cop. He didnt like me for being a former Marine.
Worked with a FBI agent. He was a great guy. Recommended that after I got out of the Marines to look seriously into joining the FBI.
There are all kinds. But there is that 10% who makes the other 90% look bad. -
For those that still think the cops are good guys ………………..they are part of the problem .

How will we deal with drones and infrared vision?I think our government has already gone what I would consider big brother. I worked under the NSA when I was a soldier in the 80’s and 90’s, before we spied on Americans. I know what tech we had 25 years ago and I know how far computers and networks have come in that time, so I understand what is going into the data collection facility in Utah. Every single bit of data you communicate, whether it is over phone, text, email, or whatever, is collected and stored at the NSA. If you are suspected of something, it is trivial for them to pull up everything you have ever sent. To me, that is big brother.
If you mean China style totalitarian government, then the answer is you can not resist it, at least not alone or in small groups. If the chinese people really wanted to be free, all they have to do is sit down. Stop everything. No one works. If they all did that, the government would grind to a halt, they would have to negotiate.
