Greetings from NY (not the city)

NEVER thought I’d be on a forum like this, but then again I never thought there would be the need. Crazy world, huh? We’re about to begin hooking up with a number of friends to start growing our own food. One friend has a lot of land and has been raising various vermin and growing some of her own modest crops. Anyways, I’ll be here looking for tips as questions arise.

Crazy is right. I feel like I woke up in a Twilight Zone episode.
Good on ya for growing your own. Every little bit you can grow your own and not spend at the grocery store helps out that much more.

We’d never been to upstate NY until our son was posted at Fort Drum.  It’s so beautiful!  Especially in the summer.  Winter was lovely, too, but not the snow in my shoes.  We were delightfully surprised at how un-New York CIty the upstate area is.

Ft Drum, that is up there! Closer to Canada than NYC!

Yes.  He drove us around and we could see Canada across the river.  Some very nice people up there and one of the best churches we’ve ever visited there in Watertown.
