Hello from Colorado high country! Homeschool mom here who functions as the family housekeeper, gardener, huntress, cook, medic, etc — mostly run-of-the-mill stuff for us ruralites, I guess. Never a dull moment, though! Looking forward to participating in this forum…

Hi. First, I’m glad to see this type of forum from Selco and Daisy…nice move, been following for a long time. If folks on this forum like these two guys, well that says a lot as far as I’m concerned.

Hanging out in the Rockies myself. Living in a fairly rural part. We attempt the homesteading lifestyle overall and do a pretty good job at it. Came from the Rockies, then went military/DOD for a long time, now I’m back. Got to see lots of the world. In fact I was near Selcos’ neck of the woods when he was going through his ordeal. I learned/saw a lot for sure, in my time. A couple big things I came away with are people are basically the same where ever you go, the more “stable” the culture the better the common folk get along and finally, the more involved the gov’t = the harder it is on the common folk and visa versa.

Now we can “afford” to get back to the basics and we’re doing it and having a pretty good time as well. We seem to meet plenty of friendly folks along the way. Our part of the Rockies seems have a prepper/homesteader friendly attitude and I’m thankful for that.

I look forward to talking with ya’ll here.
