Ok, you have to admit, that is funny.

We’ve been debating the issue of electrical grid failures and EV’s. FWIW. Some owners can use their EV batteries to power some parts of their homes, but if you do that, how do you get to work … IF there is power at work …
Putting up solar panels at home to recharge the EV’s, great idea, but you are at work during the day.
Buy more batteries at home to store the power daytime so that you can recharge your EV at night, i.e. charge an EV battery from batteries, that is rather expensive.
Getting a generator to recharge an EV?So yeah, EV’s appear to be for 1st world countries with 1st world, stable, state of the art electrical infrastructure with state of the art power generation. No fires will put them at risk.
Overall the grids are pushed to their limits as is, adding EV’s to that equation only worsens the problem generally for the grid, these fires caused supply failures and the resultant EV problem, interesting stuff to debate..
If EV’s must take over from gasoline vehicles, the grids need to be revamped.

We’re seeing the leading edge of infrastructure failure. Cali power is just the first Canary to croak. Bridges going down. Formerly paved rural roads being reverted to gravel. Decades of neglect and budgets incapable of rising to meet inflated costs are coming home to roost.
OTOH, electric bicycles are coming on strong. Lots of good trail bikes that are suitable for shitty road traveling are coming out, as well as beefy cargo bikes. Many have swappable batteries, so two packs, one charging during the day and the other in use, swap and go next day. Or just a battery bank on the solar system and charge the bike overnight. Both models can be done now.

Worldwide the original infrastructures are in need of major attention.
Dams and bridges in the USA:
The Most At-Risk Bridges in the United States
The most structurally deficient bridge in every US state

When you think about it. Look around at other countries. Vensezuela for one. both infrastructure and socializem took them down. There are other countries as well in that boat but I don’t think as bad. I sort of think that is how this country will go down and as mentioned above, our infrastucture is already in bad shape. I think we are going to see big changes within the next 3 to 4 years. None of which will be good for our country or us.
