    Reading the article, one has to wonder how many of these people are living beyond their means.

    Most people aren’t willing to stop spending on the extraneous things to concentrate on paying off the bills for those extravagant items.

    How many are rocking new iPhones? Have a three pack a day habit? Suck down overpriced ‘coffees’ and eat out daily?

    The times I was in dire financial straits, it was my own fault. I spent the money on stuff I didn’t need, racking up the credit bills for stuff that didn’t last as long as the bill.

    @whirlibird,
    I agree with you.

    I also question how many people sat down and did the math as to how much house could they realistically afford.
    Prior to the housing crisis of 08′ I know a number of people who all they thought or saw was the price the bank had approved them for, and they were determined to spend it all.

    I know of only a few people who budget.
