I’ve been interested in ham radio since childhood, but never did anything about it. Recently it’s been moving up the ‘to-do’ list, and I think the time is near. Problem is, I’ve heard and read all kinds of things about how it works, equipment needed, licenses etc. etc., but basically have a pile of jumbled info in my cranium that I can’t seem to get in order and things rolling. That’s typical for me, it’s hard to get the gray matter to cooperate sometimes…it’s always been tough for me to get some things rolling upstairs. Same with computers long ago, but once I get the hang of something I soak it up like a sponge. I really need someone who knows their stuff and wouldn’t mind spending a bit of time coaching me through the basics on how to get started. I know I’d rather have an old tube or solid state set, never been much for lots of bells and whistles. Just need to sort out the whats, wheres and whys of it all. Thanks in advance for any help! – Dan
