I currently live in a small town in the Northeast. I was born here, and other than fairly extensive travel, I’ve been here my whole life thus far. I grow most of my own food, and fish and hunt. I live in an old house, and do most of my own work on it along with fixing any other things that need fixing. I did not serve in the military. But I am blessed to have had a father who did. He was in the Battle of the Bulge, was captured, and spent 9 months in a POW Camp in Occupied Poland. He escaped and after a week made it back to our lines. He made sure throughout my life that I understood and developed the skills to survive. I am now planning on leaving this place I call home. It has become an extremely expensive place to live, and is likely to become an even more hostile environment for people like me- people who just want to be left alone. It pains me to leave here, but the alternatives are not good. I am currently looking at areas in Missouri, as that appears to be a fairly good place to start again.
Thanks. Yeah, it has been hard coming to terms with it. My family has been here for 6 generations, it is hard to leave. Going to look at Arkansas too. Just want somewhere I can afford to be, and live like I always have.
