I read Alas Babylon as a kid, I still have a copy of it. Lots of good tidbits, even before prepping was a ‘thing’. Cold War era but still applicaple today. I used to be a big Stephen King fan, and think The Stand was one of his best works. Not for everyone, but still some useful info.
I have found lately that Young Adult Fiction books are often very good resources for preparedness, believe it or not. That in and of itself gives one pause.

Hey, Vadim! Welcome 🙂
I have really enjoyed the A. American books in the Going Home series. He covers just about every variable of an EMP, including foreign invaders seeing us as weakened and easy to attack.

I have been reading a lot more books lately. I just finished 12 Horses, The Ranger Way, and One Second After. I am currently reading Lights Out and General class license for Ham radio.
I am also reading a lot of Creek Stewart’s books, but I mostly watch YouTube videos if I am watching anything. I do love my MacGyver on Friday nights. I might also like movies like John Wick to name a few. 🙂

Alas Babylon, Earth Abides, One Second After and Lucifer’s Hammer are probably some of my favorites. Earth Abides just shakes me to my core every. single. time.
I just finished reading Locker Nine which was pretty good. As a parent it was very encouraging to see a pretty normal and healthy way of preparing kids for facing adversity.
I won’t lie, World War Z is a favorite for lots of reasons. I’m not at all concerned about zombies, but I think that book is really exemplary.
Lights Out was great.
