I like to call myself The Official Blogger of the Apocalypse. I was going to put that on my business card but my daughter wisely talked me out of it.

I live in Southern Virginia with a teenager, 2 cats, and 2 dogs. I own The Organic Prepper website and write books about emergency preparedness and frugality.

I’m happy to be here with you guys!

Thanks for putting this forum together Daisy! I think it’s a sound decisions since Facebook could block any group or person with just a few keystrokes.

I’m not very good at being anonymous. In real life I work hard to be transparent and genuine. But I appreciate the value of being vague and grey when talking about prepping. Still, feeding people is my thing. I won’t be able to turn people away should SHTF. I’m just hoping to duck. Hence my user name. Thanks for the forum. It’s a crazy world we live in and who knows when the FB group could go away? Looking forward to a different venue.

    Hello all!
Thank you Selco and Daisy for putting this together. I’m a new prepper learning everyday. I’m near DC. Got a little land and hope to put t to good use for gardening. Current projects of mine are: financial health, raising chickens and ducks, making compost and building local community. I’m also a member of the ā€œgimpy prepperā€ Facebook group due to some disabilities.
Look forward to learning more from this group and sharing what I learn along the way.

I created a user name but that did not work did it? Wonder what went sideways there?

Hi Daisy I’m here. I have never been on a forum before so it will be slow learning but eventually I am sure I will get it.

Hi Daisy ! I think this is a great idea! Who knows what will happen with FB? Besides, redundancy is a good thing, especially in these days.

I’m in Texas and I’ve been prepping on and off since before 9/11. Ah, those good ol’ y2k days, when our enemy was just a squirrelly microprocessor. We’re in dark days indeed now.

Edit: Yep, my username isn’t showing either. Oh well…

Well, I’m not ananymous in Prep Club so I guess we”ll get the kinks out as we go. Thank you Daisy and Selco for putting the forum together. This is my first forum so I’ll try not to bash about where I don’t belong. Looking forward to the learning process!

Hi Daisy! Teenagers are my favorite age group; at least, I really enjoyed my kids as teens!

I’m in NW Oregon with a husband & grown child at home, 2 cats, 2 dogs, 3 snakes, a full-time job, and not enough time for my favorite hobbies of reading, baking, canning, & crocheting, and still get enough sleep to function. šŸ˜‰

I’m another old southerner, and I’ve got more than a few skills. More than some, less than others. It’s gonna be good to learn and to share what I can.

    Fantastic idea, this. Thanks!

I am from kansas and I am a single parent of a preteen daughter, with two cats and a dog. The dog is a full blooded Siberian Husky. I am a former Eagle Scout and have enjoyed the outdoors for many years I am excited to be a part of a forum that does not let certain topics be discussed.

It will be nice to meet all of you!

Good morning Daisy and everyone else!
Glad to be here! Glad to see you started a forum. Was kinda wondering when you would. I hate Fakebook.
I read the rules and I do hope people will too and respect them.
Over on your Organic Prepper site, I am 1stMarineJarHead, but the server would not take a number in the first placeholder for a user name.
I used Crow Bar as yesterday my wife hit a rock with the lawnmower and bent the deck so much, the blade was hitting it.
I used a crow bar to bend it back. Easier to just use a username after a useful tool than trying to come up with a ultra-cool user name like Tacti-CoolWannabeRamboz3000.

Hi! MimiPrepper here. Family of 7 in Georgia. Married, and a mother of 4 grown children, grandmother of 2. All with me (including a son-in-law) except my oldest and his wife and their daughter. Trying to be prepared for whatever happens. We have chickens (22 now with a separate ā€œbachelor padā€ for the extra roosters – they were from a hatch of our own hens and we couldn’t give them up), a dog, cats. Large garden. Fruit trees. I want to get into canning but haven’t had the time or money for the equipment. I work full time and am limited by Chronic back problems (was in hospital last summer and out on disability for almost three months). Just trying every day to be more prepared. Hoping to pick up tips for a more productive garden (how to keep down weeds and pests without pesticides) and dehydrating and canning advice. Thank you Daisy and Selco for hosting this!
