    That is me!

The “hold your nose and vote” brigade makes up a sizable chunk of the electorate

Who dislike both candidates should use the third line to clearly tell them FU.

About half of the country doesn’t vote. A chunk of the voters, vote for the establishment just because, contributing to the status quo. The party of the “None of the above” has the majority if they would just get off their ass and express their opinion.

So far that I’ve seen , anybody running as an ” Independent ” , is actually a Socialist . Sorry , straight ticket Rep for me this mid term .

The few independents around here, are hard to really nail down on what their platform is.
    Very wishy-washy.
And who is providing advertising dollars, is vague too.

@tolik, when I say third line, I mean the write-in line not the third party candidate.

Being an independent, I sometimes worry that if the red & blue go to war… BOTH will consider me a target of opportunity.
In light of that, I have pondered supplicating the deities of the tectonic plates – so that if either side comes after me, I’ll have a nuclear option where the volcano Gods destroy the entire town.

If red and blue go to war, they will be too busy killing each other. Keep a low profile during the fight and deal with who is left. They will be less and tired. 🙂

I really think that if voting made a difference, we wouldn’t be able to do it.

There’s a meme going around Facebook right now that if we could have counted all the people who didn’t vote, NOBODY would have won the presidency. I think the numbers who voted were equivalent to about 7 states.

@daisy, I agree completely with that statement. My idea to use the write-in line is based on two facts. First, at least in this state, if the write-ins get more than 30% of the votes, they have to tally the vote manually which would take days. Second, if everyone votes, the D/R get not more than 20% of the votes giving Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck a good chance to win the election. A cartoon character would beat what we have now any day.
