Welcome to June. For us in the sub-tropics its the “official” start of Hurricane Season.
And in Florida this week is our tax holiday for hurricane supplies. Cashed in on Dorcys sale on flashlights. Nothing “tactical”,just something that has an on/off switch and that can be dropped without breaking anything.
Got a 20000 mAh charger as suggested by the member in Iowa.
Still watching the endgame series and taking notes.
Hope everyone is well

Thank you Corsaire for posting June.

Well, last night we got just under a quarter of a inch of rain.
Forecast has another at least half to 3/4 of an inch.
Since I got up this morning, let out the dogs, we have gotten another .10 of an inch.
Glad we moved the livestock yesterday.

Glad I got the dogs out early.
Already have a .10 of an inch of rain.

All the flooding rains finally moved out, now the heat, humidity, mosquitoes and snakes have arrived.
Haven’t done much preparing the last few months for I am just mentally and physically tired and worried since dh has been diagnosed with major medical issues.
Our move to the city has been delayed many times so once again setting a new date for the first week of July and praying for the best with dh’s health and our move. Dh was worried about where to safely store his guns after the move so I ordered him a gun safe that can be attached to studs, so maybe that will ease his worry some.
Had to hire someone to clean up a trash pile in the backyard of the house in the city, instead of using a trash service they would just dump trash in the back yard, I then hired a trash service to come twice weekly for picking up garbage, so that took what little money I had in the budget.
Used my credit card for getting a pressure washer because it was going to cost thirty five hundred dollars to have the house pressure washed and I could not afford that. This pressure washer was under a thousand dollars and I will pay it off in a few months and own a pressure washer too use for keeping the house and sidewalk cleaned.
Please say a prayer for my family asking that everything be ok.

Been a while since I have been on here. I have been when I can watch the endgames as I have been very busy.
Grannyjsmith, You and your Dh are in my prayers. I know full well what you are dealing with. Praying that your Dh will get much better soon.
I have been going through a lot of things in house since the passing of my DH. Had to give up my office/sewing room/craft room and turn that room back into a guest room. Family is slowly moving away and now grandson has moved to Washington state with his sister as my daughter and son in law moved to N.C. for SIL’s promotion, and he could not find a job where they moved to. Jobs were to many miles away for going back and forth from home. So he jumped on a plane after everything was said and done, got to Washington on a Sat. and had a job on Monday. He’s doing very well there.
I now only have one grandchild living here down the street from me and she will be moving to S.C. for medical school next year. That leaves me with some drastic choices to make. Do I move at my age or stay put? My brain says to move away to country but then I would be to far away from everything. My heart says to stay put, but it is growing in leaps and bounds around here. Hard decisions indeed.
I have been downsizing on the house and need to buy a new bedroom suit and den furniture. I have some things going on now trying to make repairs on house that has been put off for 2 or 3 years as DH was unable to do them.
I am also wondering if I should take out a small home equity loan as my fireplace is not in working order. I would leave it as a wood burning fireplace but it must be repaired and not going to be cheap. Also having to jack up dinning room floor as the china hutch was way to heavy and over time the floor has been sagging. Will also have to replace about 3 floor boards as the hutch has cracked those over time as well. These would be the two things I would use a home equity loan for.
I planted a small garden this year and it so far is doing great. Already getting blueberries. The rain has been coming down in buckets and more this evening and tomorrow. Right now the weather is cooler but will be getting very hot again. I ordered an awning to go over patio and kitchen window. the one over patio will cover the whole patio and have a black out screen at the end of it to keep sun out. That get’s installed in July. The sun through the patio door and kitchen window is really bad. I have to keep the blinds pulled during the day and then the rooms are dark and I have to use lights all day. So one more month and that problem is solved.
I just hope and pray all this rain doesn’t kill my tomato plants. They don’t need all this rain. So far I think they said over 4 inches last I heard and more on the way. Flooding in some parts of the city.

After a few days of 80s, yesterday afternoon a cold front rolled through and boy did it ever!
We got 1.5inches of rain in about 2 hours.
Wind, thunder and lighting.
But we will take it. Was getting a little dry here.

Rainy season has begun here, though off to a late start. What that means is temps in the upper 80s onwards and daily thunderstorms.
Avoided the prime day hoopla as I am concentrating on the basics-food, water, shelter ect.

Will not get test results on dh for another two weeks and praying for the best. I have been busy downsizing on household items, clothing and things not needed, took the third truck load to Goodwill this morning and will take another load Saturday. There will be more going when I get more time and energy for going through more things.
The person I hired to clean up the trash pile at the city house never came, I guess because I wouldn’t pay until the work was done, when we get moved there will find someone else to do the work.
June has been a challenge financially and will continue for July, if I get through these two months hopefully I can get the finances under control. I keep praying for my dh and my family for everything to be ok and if they are ok I will be ok.

Thanks for the update grannyjsmith
My stomach has been going haywire recently. Trying to find the culprit (s). So far anything greasy. Dairy and wheat are also possibilities.
Another lockdown wouldnt surprise me and I am stocking up. Last year I got Pril dishsoap from a third party vendor on Amazon. The stuff was amazing. Sadly I can only find 1 small expensive bottle there now.
