ParticipantMama Cando, I was reading through some other topics and saw your post. We’re in Mid Michigan, too. Being new to all of this I’d love to meet someone in the area and learn. Coffee sometime?

ParticipantHi bfbecky, Nice to know there’s someone near here. IF you’re comfortable, how long have you been “putting things” away? Me been working at it for about 6 years now.I still consider myself to be a “newbie” at this. You’ll like this site. Very friendly people, respectful and extremely helpful.

Participant<p style=”text-align: left;”>Hey mama! I’ve been reading Daisy’s site for, ooh, probably 8 years! Putting things up was slow going for awhile due to finances, so I focused on skills & knowledge. With a job change a couple years ago, finances have eased up and let me do a little more $$ based prepping. :)</p>

Participantbarefoot, Sorry I haven’t responded. Been a bit busy and have neglected a few things. DH had his knee done, he’s fine now but I have been busy trucking him around and keeping close to home. We have been vaccinated and DH has decided to take me down south to see family for my birthday. It’s been a year since we’ve been able to see the grand kids other than Face timing on the phone. Glad the finances have eased up a bit , I know it was tough for me in the beginning as well but this last year has almost shut DH up about me doing what I have been doing. My oldest was off work (movie and TV industry) for over a year, now he’s back to work. He told us that this has “convinced ” him to be better prepared. Told him is this ANOTHER case of “I wish I had listened to you MOM”? LOL By the way he said yeah. But DIL1 has done a remarkable job keeping body and soul together in that family for the past year. Son2 and family are doing okay. He says doesn’t matter what anybody says, he’ll still wear a mask to keep himself and family safe. Both he and Grandson2 are HIGH risk. SO other than that …..How’ya been so far? Any questions ?

ParticipantYes, this last year has brought my hubby on-board a little more! He was never against it, just definitely never 100%. But for Mothers Day yesterday he bought me a pocket chainsaw that I’d had on my wishlist. Unconventional, but awesome! I can tell he’s thinking of this stuff more often <3 We’re doing pretty good here, hope you and the family continue to stay safe!
