Hi There, Wondering if there is anyone local to me on this forum? If yes, are you experiencing pressure to get vaccinated? How are you responding to this? I’m an essential worker (labourer on a dairy farm) and apparently the vaccinations are coming to the farm soon. Everyone I know is getting the vaccine and is happy about it. It would be nice to connect with someone like minded who is local. i am afraid about what comes next.
I am a homesteader on a half acre with skills in farming, organic vegetable gardening, seed saving, preserving food using old-style farm methods that require no electricity (e.g., trenching, salting in crocks), herbalism, and plant identification. I have lived five years completely off-grid in a small cabin.
Hi C.P.G. Not right in your area, as I live in Barrie. I know some people in the Bancroft area, that even if they don’t all call themselves preppers, they sure live the life. I always compare notes to see what we can learn and share.
Like you I’m wary of the vaccine too. Luckily I’m a semi-retired/unemployed bum,:) so I don’t have an employer to force it on me, but I’m worried we’ll be required to have a shot before we can travel, or do whatever. My advice would be to not take any of the mRNA vaccines, the new untested ones that actually start rewriting your Rna/DNA. The Novavax version may soon be approved in Canada, and it is an old style like flu, measles, etc. I’d hold out for that if you are forced to take one.
I have to hand it to you. Five years in an off grid cabin! I’m an old farm boy and I know how much work it can be. I admit I’ve got soft enough to really appreciate hydro and natural gas.
Best of luck, hang in there and if I hear of anything or anyone over your way will definitely pass it on.
