Malls started having trouble in the 90’s , More people shop online now than in past years . How many times have you heard ” We don’t have it , but we can order it for you ” ? And the reply is  “, I can order it also , and have it shipped to my door . ” . Its becoming more difficult for retailers to compete with the internet . Good or bad thing , depends on your point of view , Its not good for people needing a job .

I think malls are really a sign of the times. When they start shutting down, towns start dying. There are still plenty of older people who are not comfortable ordering online.

When I want a particular item I want it in my hand when I plop down the cash.  But as Tolik mentioned, “We don’t have that in stock, but we can order it for you.”  Well, I can order it myself, get as good or maybe better price, get free shipping, and likely as not no sales tax.

I just ordered my first firearm off the internet.  No one around me had it in stock and didn’t know when they would get one like I wanted.  Found it online… cheaper price… and had it in four days at a local retailer.  Free shipping.

Our one mall has been struggling for years.  Really no reason to shop there.  What keeps this area going economically is Liberty University.

Funny you should say that , I have picked up several firearms on line , over the past few years . Price and availability being the reasons . Almost all my ammo purchases are on line .

Once upon a time, a long time ago, I worked at a fast food restaurant in the only mall in our town.

A few years ago I went back.  All the major anchor stores had closed.  The new food court was half empty.  Windows broken out. Kinda sad to see as I had a lot of memories there.  Time moves on.
