I agree with his assessment on top soil and modern farming practices.

The GMO, better known as roundup has not helped the top soil one bit. They have farmed the lands to death and as the Bible says, you must give the land a break. Not in those words but if you know how the Bible talks about giving the land, I want to say 7 years to rebuild itself. I don’t have my Bible in front of me right now so can’t say where it is for sure. But the farm land does need a rest so it can get back the much needed rich soil. We don’t do that. We just keep farming it to death. As far as clean water, we have poluted our water in so many ways. Runoff from farming, and I know Smithfield foods was dumping into water. You don’t want to drink nor fish from the Pagan river around here. I don’t see it getting any better in our future. We are not doing a garden next summer, one because DH is now unable and two because we need to give the land that rest. We are having the soil tested to see what it needs and then from their we will start the garden up in a year or so.
