I have to ask, does the inernet/cable count as a necessity?

If the internet is business related, then yes.
Most people would be better served by turning off and slowing down. Focusing on the day to day necessities instead of internet services, cable and streaming service.
Investing that money into bills and becoming worth ‘nothing’.
What can you live without? Before you are forced to find out.
